Dana White criticizes Eddie Hearn over Fury vs. Joshua negotiations
UFC President Dana White has criticized Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, accusing him of hindering the potential super-fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. White suggested that Hearn’s public complaints regarding the fight's logistics are detrimental to the event.
A primary point of contention involves the fight's location. While Hearn reportedly favors hosting the match in the United Kingdom, specifically at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, White indicated that the involvement of major investors like Zuffa, TKO, Netflix, and Saudi interests favors a United States venue to maximize revenue. White stated that if the fight occurs in the UK, there is significantly less money involved.
White argued that a promoter's role is to guide fighters toward the highest possible earnings, claiming Hearn is failing to do so by engaging in public disputes over venues and dates. He characterized the current state of negotiations as reaching a point that is ‘f*cking silly’ due to these disagreements.
