Dana White targets Jai Opetaia vs Deontay Wilder fight

Promoter Dana White is working to arrange a fight between cruiserweight Jai Opetaia and former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. The bout is being considered for the December 11 undercard in Cardiff, which is headlined by a fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

White described the potential matchup as ‘a very dangerous fight’ for Opetaia given his current standing in the division. While Wilder is a former world champion, he has lost four of his last seven fights. Opetaia, 31, is looking to remain active in meaningful bouts at either the cruiserweight or heavyweight levels. A victory over Wilder would provide significant commercial value and elevate the Australian fighter's global profile.
