Danai Michalaki talks motherhood, family life and growing up in Syros
Greek actress Danai Michalaki gave an interview to the magazine Vita with journalist Faye Vakrinou, reflecting on her experience of motherhood. She described how having a child has brought both new fears and a sense of bravery, and emphasized the importance of personal strength and resilience.
Michalaki contrasted life in the small island community of Syros, where "everyone knows each other," with the anonymity of Athens, saying the close‑knit environment offers greater safety for a child. She also praised the support of her husband, fellow actor George Papageorgiou, noting their shared profession and mutual understanding help balance work, fatigue and stress.
The actress highlighted that she feels empowered by her role as a mother, aiming to be a positive example for her daughter while maintaining a balanced personal life beyond theatre topics.
