Danantara cancels Pelindo and PELNI merger
Danantara has officially canceled the planned merger between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) and PT PELNI. Dony Oskaria, Chief Operating Officer of Danantara and Head of the BUMN Regulatory Agency, explained that the two state-owned enterprises have fundamentally different business models. While Pelindo focuses on port infrastructure management, PELNI operates in maritime transportation and shipping services.
In a broader effort to strengthen the national economy, Danantara is driving a transformation of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) through portfolio restructuring. This includes evaluating companies based on industry characteristics, market conditions, and financial capacity to determine whether they should be strengthened, consolidated, or divested.
Simultaneously, Pelindo is working to integrate port infrastructure with industrial zones and digital ecosystems to improve logistics efficiency. In the maritime services sector, PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) recently received four awards at the Marketeers Editor’s Choice Award 2026 for its digital innovation and integrated marine services, which support the national energy supply chain.
