Danantara Indonesia acquires land and hotel in Makkah

Danantara Indonesia, through its holding company PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has completed the acquisition of 4.4 hectares of land in the Thakher Makkah area of Saudi Arabia. This follows the earlier acquisition and handover of the Novotel Thakher Makkah, an operational hotel featuring 1,461 rooms and suites, which was completed on August 11, 2026.

The transactions are a follow-up to a strategic agreement announced between Danantara and Thakher Development Company in December 2025. The investment aims to strengthen the Hajj and Umrah service ecosystem by providing integrated accommodation and support services, including hospitality, retail, and other facilities.

Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani stated that this achievement is a concrete step toward building a long-term hospitality investment platform in Saudi Arabia. The development will proceed in stages in collaboration with local developer Al-Khomasiah, focusing on commercial feasibility and regulatory compliance to create sustainable long-term value.
