Danantara Indonesia pledges US$100 million annual philanthropic funding

Danantara Indonesia has committed to distributing a minimum of US$100 million (approximately Rp1.66 trillion to Rp1.79 trillion) annually through its philanthropic unit, the Danantara Indonesia Trust (DIT).

CEO Rosan Roeslani announced the commitment during the first anniversary of the trust in Jakarta. The funds are designated for three priority social sectors: education, healthcare, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The initiative aims to strengthen national competitiveness by improving access to education for youth, expanding healthcare reach, and providing clean water.

While the primary funding originates from Danantara, the organization intends to attract international donors and external contributors. To ensure accountability, the trust plans to provide transparent governance through quarterly and annual public reports. Moving into its second year, the DIT seeks to expand strategic partnerships with governments, universities, and the private sector to establish itself as a world-class philanthropic institution.
