Danantara reports 18.4% increase in Indonesian SOE profits

Dony Oskaria, Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia, announced that the combined net profit of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) rose by 18.4 percent to Rp214.9 trillion during the period of January–August 2026. This represents a year-on-year increase of Rp33.4 trillion compared to the same period in 2025.

The transformation efforts have also improved the annualized return on equity (ROE) to 8.0 percent, up from 7.4 percent the previous year. Oskaria noted that PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) saw a significant net profit increase of 427 percent.

To further improve efficiency, Danantara aims to restructure its 1,074 overseen companies, targeting a reduction to fewer than 200 entities by 2030. Currently, 52 percent of these SOEs report annual losses totaling Rp23 trillion, while inefficient corporate structures result in approximately US$2 billion in annual waste. The agency plans to consolidate entities based on global standards, financial performance, and industry prospects.
