Dance companies announce upcoming performances in Brazil

Several dance productions are scheduled in Brazil. Paralelo Cia de Dança will present ‘A Febre’ at Theatro Santa Roza in João Pessoa on August 21 and 22. The performance, choreographed and interpreted by Joyce Barbosa, explores themes of abandonment and survival through vigorous movement.

In Rio de Janeiro, Grupo Corpo will perform ‘Piracema’ and ‘Lecuona’ at Theatro Municipal from September 2 to 6. ‘Piracema’ uses the metaphor of fish migration to explore nature and urban dystopia, while ‘Lecuona’ features choreography inspired by the romantic music of Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona. Tickets for the Grupo Corpo performances are currently on sale.
