Dance festivals announced in Argentina and Mexico

The third edition of the ‘Repatriados’ ballet gala will take place on August 14 and 15 at Palacio Libertad in Buenos Aires. Directed by Patricio Di Stabiley, the event gathers Argentine dancers who have trained or performed with major international companies to showcase classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works.

Among the participants is León Galeppi, a Royal Ballet School scholar who previously studied at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco. Galeppi noted the importance of returning to his roots through the project.

In Mexico, the TRAC festival will be held from August 20 to 30 at the UNAM University Cultural Center. This transdisciplinary platform explores the dialogue between traditional dance and contemporary scenic practices through workshops, performances, and film projections.

The festival features international artists such as French director Gilles Delmas, Belgian choreographer Damien Jalet, and Oaxacan muxe artist Lukas Avendaño. The program focuses on themes including ritual, heritage, identity, and migration.
