Dance festivals held in Argentina and Chile

Various dance celebrations are taking place across South America. In Mar de Ajó, Argentina, the Ballet Municipal de La Costa marked its 28th anniversary with the ‘Danza en el Mar Activa’ event. The two-day program featured various dance schools, groups, and artists from across the Buenos Aires province, utilizing light, visual, and sound resources to enhance the performances. The event included public dance sessions and live music to foster community engagement.

In Chile, the Asociación Artistas de la Danza is organizing the ‘Festival Artistas de la Danza’ throughout October to celebrate National Dance Day. More than 30 schools and academies will participate in activities across Chillán and other communes in the Ñuble region, including flashmobs, open classes, and performances at various local venues. The festival concludes on October 19 at the Chillán Municipal Theater, coinciding with Music Month and featuring live music from Grupo Cocharcas.
