Dance performances debut at Madrid theaters
The Compañía Nacional de Danza has premiered ‘Aión’ at the Teatro de La Zarzuela in Madrid. Directed by Muriel Romero, the program explores the concept of eternal time through three distinct choreographic works: ‘Paquita’ by Marius Petipa, ‘Petite Mort’ by Jiří Kylián, and ‘The Second Detail’ by William Forsythe. The production represents a significant stylistic challenge for the company as it transitions between classical ballet and contemporary movement.
In another Madrid venue, the recently reopened Teatro Lope de Vega is hosting ‘Fractus,’ a production by the Seville-based company led by Manuela Nogales and Fernando Romero. The piece, which follows a creative residency at the Canal theaters, highlights the integration of dance into the theater's programming alongside traditional text-based plays.
