Dance productions featuring ballet and tango arrive in Argentina

Several high-profile dance productions featuring a fusion of classical ballet and tango are scheduled across Argentina.

In Balcarce, the Buenos Aires Ballet, directed by Federico Fernández, will perform a ‘Gran Gala de Ballet’ at the Teatro Municipal ‘Luis A. Conti’ on October 12. The repertoire will include international classical fragments alongside works set to the music of Astor Piazzolla. The company features dancers from the Teatro Colón and the Teatro Argentino de La Plata.

In Córdoba, renowned dancer Hernán Piquín will star in ‘Entre dos mundos’ at the Teatro del Libertador San Martín from October 1 to 4. Performed alongside the Ballet Oficial de la Provincia, the show bridges the romantic repertoire of ‘Paquita’ with the dramatic intensity of Piazzolla’s tango. The production will feature a live tango quintet.
