Dance schools in Spain expand curricula with new disciplines

Dance schools in Spain are expanding their educational offerings with diverse disciplines. The Pepe Vento Dance School in Alcalá de Henares has introduced ‘Techno Flamenco,’ a new class that merges traditional flamenco movements—such as zapateado and expressive arm work—with electronic music and contemporary urban aesthetics.

In Paracuellos de Jarama, El Ballet Júnior de Mónica, directed by Mónica Merinero, provides dance training for both children and adults. The school’s curriculum for children starting from age three includes pre-ballet, classical ballet, flamenco, folklore, and urban dance. For adults, the program offers classical ballet and flamenco alongside fitness-oriented disciplines like Barre and CardioFit.
