Dancers Love Dogs gala to return to Artscape Opera House
The Dancers Love Dogs annual fundraising gala is scheduled to return to the Artscape Opera House on Tuesday, November 3. Hosted by comedian Alan Committie, the event features dance, theatre, and entertainment to support animal sterilisation programmes in communities with limited veterinary access.
The initiative operates on a model where each ticket sold funds one animal sterilisation. To date, the organisation has funded more than 35,000 sterilisations through contributions from dancers, teachers, choreographers, and sponsors.
This year, the organisation is partnering with the Animal Welfare Society in Philippi. This collaboration has already facilitated the sterilisation of over 850 animals in areas including Mitchells Plain and Vrygrond. The upcoming gala aims to expand these efforts.
