D’Andre Swift signs contract extension with Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift has secured a three-year contract extension worth $33.75 million, keeping him with the franchise through the 2029 season. The deal is noted for being team-friendly, as there is no guaranteed money beyond the 2027 season, leaving the Bears with minimal dead cap penalties if they move on from him in 2028 or 2029.

Swift’s new deal follows an explosive performance in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers, where he earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. During the 59-37 victory, Swift recorded 124 rushing yards on 6.9 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns. He also contributed one reception for 10 yards.
