Dangdut Academy 8 kicks off Top 42 rounds on Indosiar and Vidio

Indonesia’s flagship dangdut singing competition, Dangdut Academy 8, began its Top 42 elimination rounds on consecutive evenings. On 15 July 2026, Group 1, coached by Selfi Yamma, featured seven contestants from Palembang, Sampang, Maumere, Medan, Belitung Timur, Bandung and Sidrap. The following night, 16 July, Group 2, coached by Fildan, presented another seven talents from Ogan Komering Ilir, Polewali Mandar, Bangkalan, Surabaya, Sijunjung, Pemalang and Langkat. Both shows were broadcast live at 19:00 WIB on Indosiar and streamed on Vidio. The judging panel included dangdut stars Soimah, Dewi Perssik, Lesti Kejora and, for Group 1, King Nassar and Wika Salim.

Viewers could support favourite academia through virtual gifts on the Vidio app, while hosts Gilang Dirga, Ramzi, Rina Nose, Rizky Billar and Andi Syakira guided the live events.
