Dangerous Toys to release remastered 1989 debut with unreleased live tracks

Kenyon Records has announced ‘Dangerous Toys: The Definitive Edition,’ a deluxe reissue of the 1989 self-titled debut album by the Austin-based rock band Dangerous Toys. Scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, the project features a ground-up remaster by original producer Max Norman, with specific masters created for both vinyl and CD formats.

The reissue includes a second disc containing nine previously unreleased live recordings from the band’s 1989 tour. These tracks were sourced from frontman Jason McMaster’s personal collection of soundboard cassettes, which were originally provided by the band’s front-of-house engineer for performance study. McMaster noted that no duplicate copies of these master cassettes had been made, and he had not listened to the recordings in at least 30 years.

The CD edition will also feature an additional live track, ‘That Dog,’ which will not be available on the vinyl or cassette versions. The band, which formed in Austin in 1987, rose to prominence following a bidding war sparked by a live radio broadcast recording.
