Dangote Cement prioritizes driver safety at Ibese retreat

Dangote Cement Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to driver welfare and safety during the company’s 2026 Drivers’ Safety Retreat for Ibese Plant drivers in Ogun State. The retreat, themed ‘Think Safety, Act Safely’, brought together drivers, transport personnel, and management to reinforce safe driving practices and encourage dialogue regarding welfare concerns.

Group Managing Director Arvind Pathak emphasized that driver wellbeing is a priority, stating, ‘no delivery is worth a life’ and ‘we can replace a truck; we cannot replace a human being.’ Pathak noted that drivers carry the company’s reputation on national highways and urged them to avoid speeding and fatigue. The company pledged to continue investing in capacity development, safety tools, and initiatives to improve driver welfare and logistics operations.
