Dangote Cement selects London over Dubai for secondary stock listing
Dangote Cement Plc announced that it will pursue a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange rather than Dubai, citing faster execution and easier access to global institutional liquidity. Board member Mariya Dangote explained that a London listing can be completed more quickly, allowing the company to raise capital and broaden its investor base while maintaining its primary listing on the Nigerian Exchange.
The dual‑listing, targeted for as early as September 2026, could involve selling about 10 % of the firm’s equity to foreign investors. The move is part of the Dangote Group’s wider capital‑market strategy, which also includes plans to list its petroleum refinery later this year, aiming to deepen global participation in Africa’s largest building‑materials producer.
