Dangote Refinery Resumes Naira Petrol Sales, Sets Price at ₦1,215/Litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced that it has resumed selling Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in naira after a brief period of dollar‑denominated pricing. The refinery fixed the ex‑depot (gantry) price at ₦1,215 per litre, a rise of ₦140 (about 13%) from the previous ₦1,075. The change is intended to ease pressure on fuel marketers and consumers, and coastal loading has also restarted under the new terms.

In a separate development, the refinery completed a private‑equity placement that raised roughly US$2.5 billion – the largest publicly disclosed primary equity raise in Africa. The offering was oversubscribed about 3.7 times, attracting investors such as the Africa Finance Corporation and India Infra Buildco. Proceeds will fund the ongoing expansion of the refinery and petrochemical complex and strengthen the company's balance sheet, underscoring strong confidence in its growth strategy and in Africa’s energy security.
