Dani Alves transitions to role as evangelical pastor

Former Brazilian footballer Dani Alves has embraced a new life as an evangelical pastor following his release from prison. After serving 14 months for sexual assault, Alves has dedicated himself to religious ministry, traveling to preach the message of Christ.

During a recent visit to Argentina, Alves addressed the intersection of his former career and his new faith. When asked to compare his former on-field partnership with Lionel Messi against the duo of Messi and Jordi Alba, Alves stated that his best connection is now with Christ. He noted that while Argentina possesses an exceptional passion for football, he believes it is time to change direction, stating, “Football does not save lives. True freedom is being saved from sin.”
