Dani Gómez to join J1 League club after Real Zaragoza stint

Spanish striker Dani Gómez is set to join a J1 League club in Japan, marking his first professional move outside of Spain. The 28-year-old, a former Real Madrid youth player and Spain U21 international, reached an agreement with a club described as “one of the most important clubs in Japan.”

Following his departure from Real Zaragoza, where he was the team's top scorer last season with nine goals, Gómez was a free agent. Despite receiving formal offers from clubs in Russia, Greece, and Cyprus, as well as interest from the Spanish second division, he chose the opportunity to play in a new country and league.

The deal is expected to be a one-year contract. Gómez previously played for several Spanish clubs, including Levante, Espanyol, and Valencia, and shares a connection to Real Madrid with Takefusa Kubo.
