Dani Martín rejects ‘La Voz’ coaching role, prompting Melendi response
Musician Dani Martín has expressed a strong refusal to participate as a coach on the television show ‘La Voz’. During a concert at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, Martín stated, “I don’t want to be anyone’s coach, ever, I’d rather die first.” He clarified that his stance is not directed at contestants, but rather at the responsibility of judging and guiding the careers of other artists, emphasizing that his music remains his primary focus.
In response to these comments, singer Melendi addressed the situation indirectly during the presentation of the new season of ‘La Voz’. While not mentioning Martín by name, Melendi defended the role of the coaches, stating, “When one does not live through things, it is better to remain silent.”
The upcoming season of ‘La Voz’ is scheduled to return to Antena 3 on September 18, hosted by Eva González. The coaching panel will include Melendi, Mika, Lola Índigo, and Pablo López, with a fifth coach expected to join during the Battle phase.
