Dani Olmo to be honored by Terrassa City Council following World Cup victory

The Terrassa City Council has scheduled a formal reception for footballer Dani Olmo on Wednesday, September 2, to celebrate his victory as a World Cup champion with the Spanish national team.

The event will begin at 5:00 PM with an institutional greeting in the City Hall session room, attended by Mayor Jordi Ballart and various municipal councilors. Following a reception in the mayor's office, Olmo will appear on the City Hall balcony at 5:30 PM to greet supporters in the Raval de Montserrat area. A live screen will be installed near the Mercat de la Independència for those unable to attend in person.

Olmo, an attacking midfielder for FC Barcelona who trained in the youth categories of Terrassa FC, was a key player during the 2026 World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This homecoming follows his previous celebration two years ago after winning the European Championship. Additionally, the city plans to inaugurate the ‘Cruyff Court Dani Olmo’ at the Montserrat multi-sport track this autumn, a project made possible through an agreement with the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
