Daniel Arroyo warns of collapse in disability support system

Former National Deputy and former Minister of Social Development Daniel Arroyo has warned of a “collapse” within the disability support system in Argentina. Speaking at the Sindicato de Trabajadores Municipales de Vicente López, Arroyo criticized current national government policies, stating that individuals are struggling to access essential medications, transportation, and therapies.

Arroyo emphasized the urgent need for the full implementation of the National Disability Emergency Law. He noted that while the law is in effect, there is a significant gap between legislative intent and actual budget allocation. He specifically called for the updating of the fee schedule (nomenclador) and improved funding for service providers and transporters to ensure the continuity of care.

In addition to disability issues, Arroyo addressed broader economic concerns, including rising household debt for basic necessities and the loss of purchasing power affecting families and the middle class.
