Daniel Bertoni withdraws presidential bid for Independiente

Daniel Bertoni, the former Independiente footballer, has withdrawn his candidacy for the club's presidency to support Luciano Nakis of the Lista Roja.

In response to this move, the Auténticos Rojos group issued an official statement. While they recognized Bertoni as an “untouchable glory and one of the greatest idols in the history of our institution,” they clarified that they do not support his decision to join a different political sector. The group stated they do not share the “model, methods, or vision” represented by Nakis's space.

Auténticos Rojos emphasized that their principles and ideas take precedence over individual names, rejecting what they described as “electoral alliances empty of content.” They reaffirmed their commitment to competing in the December elections. Currently, the confirmed presidential candidates for Independiente are Luciano Nakis, Gastón Gaudio, and Enrique Sacco, with Sergio Agüero also expressing support for Nakis.
