Daniel Brocklebank wins Inside Soap Award for Coronation Street exit

Daniel Brocklebank has won the Best Exit award at the Inside Soap Awards 2026 for his portrayal of Billy Mayhew in Coronation Street. The win follows a viewer vote regarding the character's dramatic departure.

Billy Mayhew's storyline concluded in a crossover episode between Coronation Street and Emmerdale, where the character died following a multi-vehicle crash. The plot involved the character being left to die by Theo Silverton after Billy discovered Silverton's abuse of Todd Grimshaw.

Brocklebank, who collected the trophy early in London due to rehearsals for The Hunger Games: On Stage, expressed gratitude to fans. He noted that he would like his character to be remembered as a kind and fair moral compass during his 11-year tenure on the show.
