Daniel Bwala denies calling President Tinubu illegitimate

Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has denied allegations that he previously described the President as an ‘illegitimate President’ during his time in the opposition.

During an interview on the KAA TRUTHS podcast, Bwala attributed such claims to human rights activist Aisha Yesufu of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Bwala argued that Yesufu’s continued stance is due to a lack of legal understanding, noting that the Supreme Court has already delivered a final judgment upholding the 2023 presidential election.

Bwala maintained that once the highest court in the land validates an election, the decision must be accepted. When asked to provide evidence of his alleged past comments, he challenged critics to produce them, stating, ‘If you have it, pull it out.’
