Daniel Craig attends National Youth Theatre 70th anniversary gala

Daniel Craig, Rose Ayling-Ellis, and Jack Thorne participated in a gala at London’s Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Youth Theatre. The event featured various creative talents performing readings of letters addressed to their younger selves.

During the ceremony, Daniel Craig read a letter by playwright James Graham, stating that “the most important invention in the history of civilisation [. . . ] was stopping, standing still.” Jack Thorne shared advice to his younger self to “be kind to others” and “try to do better than you do,” while Rose Ayling-Ellis reflected on her journey with deafness and finding community.

The gala included a wide array of guests, such as Steven Moffat and Katherine Ryan. Several prominent figures, including Dame Judi Dench and Lashana Lynch, contributed letters to be featured in an upcoming commemorative book honoring the organization.
