Daniel Emminger Murdered on Bavarian Farm; Police Seek Shooter of Possible Giant Rifle
Daniel Emminger, a 33‑year‑old autonomous farmer, was shot dead on his isolated farm near Bedernau in the Unterallgäu region of Bavaria. Witnesses found his body two days after the incident, which police say occurred during the night of 31 March‑1 April.
Investigators believe a large‑calibre "giant" rifle was fired inside the house, creating a sound louder than a jet and possibly causing temporary hearing loss to the shooter. Four months after the killing, no suspect has been identified. The police are asking anyone with knowledge of individuals who own or have used such a weapon, or who observed out‑of‑area persons or vehicles at the time, to come forward. A reward of €5,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest, as announced by the Bundeskriminalamt.
Emminger lived on the farm producing his own fruit, vegetables, livestock, electricity and a biogas plant, and he taught courses on self‑sufficiency through his "Autarkia‑naturnah" association.
