Daniel Etim Effiong defends acting roles and kissing scenes

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has defended his participation in romantic and kissing scenes in films, arguing that viewers should judge actions based on intention rather than outward appearance.

In a recent video, Effiong addressed critics by comparing the professional nature of acting to that of a gynecologist, noting that a medical professional examines female genitalia as part of a life-saving role without moral impropriety. He emphasized that the morality of an act is determined by the state of a person’s heart and their underlying motives rather than the physical action itself.

The actor, who has frequently faced scrutiny due to his Christian faith and marital status, stated that such scenes are often unavoidable requirements of Nollywood scripts. He noted that while there are different ways to portray intimacy, he remains focused on his professional craft.
