Daniel Günther discusses private life and Berlin politics

Schleswig-Holstein Ministerpräsident Daniel Günther shared personal insights during an appearance on the ARD program ‘Inas Nacht’. The CDU politician, who has led the state since 2017, discussed his private life, his impressions of the Chancellor, and his admiration for former Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

Günther expressed a sense of detachment from the political culture in Berlin, noting that while his interactions with Friedrich Merz have been pleasant, he prefers the internal conflict-resolution style of his black-green coalition in Schleswig-Holstein. He also indicated no desire to move into federal politics, stating his intention to remain in northern Germany.
