Daniel Mutaqien appointed Vice Chairman of DPR Commission III

Daniel Mutaqien Syafiuddin, a Golkar Party member, has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). The appointment was formalized during a plenary session in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Mutaqien, who previously served two terms in Commission V focusing on infrastructure and transportation, succeeds Sari Yuliati. Yuliati has transitioned to a new role as Vice Chairman of the DPR RI. The decision was made by the Golkar Party leadership and signed by Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia.

In his new capacity, Mutaqien will oversee strategic legal sectors, including supervision of the Attorney General's Office, the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the National Narcotics Board (BNN), and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). Mutaqien stated that he views the mandate as a new challenge and is committed to fulfilling his responsibilities with accountability.
