Daniel Nellis wins $3 million New York Lottery scratch‑off at Stewart’s Shops

Daniel Nellis of Caroga Lake, New York, cashed in the top prize of the New York Lottery’s $3 million "Cash" scratch‑off game. The winning $30 ticket was bought at a Stewart’s Shops located at 1‑19 East Main Street in Johnstown, New York. Nellis chose a one‑time lump‑sum payment, receiving about $1.33 million after federal and state tax withholdings.

The ticket represented the final $3 million grand prize; all top‑prize tickets for this game have now been claimed. Stewart’s Shops noted that nearly 500 of its customers have won more than $18 million from New York Lottery tickets sold at its New York and Vermont locations in 2025, including four previous million‑dollar winners from other upstate towns. Lower‑tier prizes for the game remain available through May 21, 2027.
