Daniel Osvaldo recovering from severe lung infection

Former footballer Daniel Osvaldo is recovering in intermediate care at the Hospital del Bicentenario de Esteban Echeverría in Monte Grande, Argentina, following a life-threatening pulmonary infection. After spending time in intensive care due to a pleural effusion that primarily affected his right lung, Osvaldo has shown signs of improvement and shared updates on social media.

Osvaldo stated that the infection originated from an untreated dental cavity. Medical professionals extracted the affected tooth, after which his condition began to stabilize. He noted that while his previous athletic conditioning may have helped his body resist the severity of the illness, he was also dealing with low defenses at the time.

In a recent social media post, Osvaldo appeared smiling alongside his father, Raúl, who wore apparel from AS Roma, a club where Osvaldo previously played. The former athlete also mentioned that he has ceased smoking as part of his recovery process.
