Actor Daniel Padilla has publicly criticized the news outlet Abante after the publication described him as ‘delulu’ or delusional. The remark followed Padilla’s social media posts featuring AI-generated videos that depicted improved scenarios for the Philippines under better governance, shared amidst ongoing discussions regarding national flooding and flood-control efforts.

Padilla responded directly to the publication via Instagram, stating that he was merely performing his duty as a Filipino citizen. He expressed frustration at being characterized as delusional for expressing concerns about the country. The tabloid’s report had also speculated whether the actor intended to enter politics.

Actress Karla Estrada, Padilla’s mother, also defended her son, questioning the outlet’s choice of words and calling for more responsible journalism. She criticized the publication for its lack of thought and integrity in its reporting.
