Daniel Penny advocates for U.S. data center expansion

Daniel Penny, a member of Andreessen Horowitz’s American Dynamism team, has begun publicly advocating for the expansion of data centers in the United States. In a lengthy social media post, Penny argued that data centers are essential for revitalizing American manufacturing.

Penny stated that data centers act as a “forge” that enables the use of advanced software and robotic systems to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. He suggested that this technology will automate certain office roles while increasing demand for skilled trades such as electricians, welders, and pipefitters. He further contended that supporting companies reliant on data center processing is a key strategy to compete against international competitors who utilize automation and different labor practices.
