Daniel Pereira Mujica announces revitalization plan for Ciudad del Este

Daniel Pereira Mujica, the mayor-elect of Ciudad del Este, has announced a comprehensive development plan aimed at revitalizing the city’s commercial microcenter and improving urban infrastructure. The initiative seeks to transform the area from a strictly shopping destination into a broader tourism hub encompassing gastronomy, art, culture, and hospitality.

Key components of the plan include roadworks on major avenues, the recovery of 100 public plazas, and the potential pedestrianization of strategic streets. To improve urban mobility, Mujica is exploring the acquisition of 40 to 50 new buses and studying the installation of electric trams to connect different sectors of the microcenter. The administration is also considering a multi-level vertical parking structure near Lago de la República to reduce private vehicle congestion.

In terms of technology and health, the administration plans to implement technological modernizations and has announced an initial investment of 8,000 million guaraní for primary health services. The development strategy, which will begin his term on November 3, also includes private sector partnership agreements to maintain public spaces.
