Daniel Recasens outlines ERC vision for Reus mayoralty

Daniel Recasens, the Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) candidate for the 2027 municipal elections in Reus, has presented the initial framework for his political project titled ‘El Reus que ve’. During an event at the Centre Cívic Gregal, Recasens emphasized that his goal is to transition from being part of a governing coalition to actively leading the city.

Key priorities for his platform include affordable housing, urban cleanliness, and public safety. To address housing, Recasens proposed creating a census of empty properties and strengthening the municipal rental exchange by offering greater certainty to small property owners to encourage them to enter the market.

Regarding infrastructure and urban planning, the candidate suggested advancing the construction of the Ronda Nord and improving connectivity between the Gaudí neighborhood, Boca de la Mina, the train station, and Passeig de Mata. He also called for a review of waste collection contracts and the implementation of night-time coexistence monitors to enhance security.
