Daniel Sancho's defense appeals life sentence in Thailand
The defense for Daniel Sancho, the Spanish national sentenced to life imprisonment in Thailand for the premeditated murder of Edwin Arrieta, has filed an application with Thailand's Supreme Court to annul his sentence. This follows a previous appeals court decision that upheld the original ruling from the Samui Provincial Court.
New details have emerged regarding leaked audio recordings in which Sancho discussed a plan involving 100,000 euros intended for a land-related operation in Thailand. In these recordings, Sancho suggested that land purchases linked to Alice Keartjareanlap could potentially improve his judicial situation. While the audio does not prove any bribery of Thai judicial officials or that the plan was executed, it has drawn scrutiny toward Keartjareanlap’s role and the financial movements surrounding her services.
Additionally, legal documentation reveals that Daniel Sancho, Rodolfo Sancho, and Alice Keartjareanlap shared the same legal representation in Spain in May 2025, just months before the conversations regarding the proposed financial maneuver took place.
