Daniel Scott Adams charged in Minnesota hostage incident
Daniel Scott Adams, 58, faces multiple charges following an alleged domestic incident in Eyota, Minnesota. According to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court, Adams is accused of holding a woman hostage at knifepoint after an argument.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the residence on a Friday afternoon. Responding officers reportedly heard the victim through a Ring doorbell camera, stating that Adams was holding her hostage with a knife. Upon entering the home, deputies encountered Adams at the top of a staircase. After a struggle during which he failed to follow commands, deputies used a taser twice to take him into custody.
The complaint alleges that Adams took a knife from the kitchen to prevent the victim from leaving and used it to threaten another individual in the home. While Adams admitted to holding the knife during an argument, he denied confining the victim. He has been charged with felony false imprisonment, two counts of terroristic threats, and misdemeanor domestic assault. His conditional bail was set at $20,000.
