Daniel Ståhl qualifies for European discus final despite foul drama

Swedish discus thrower Daniel Ståhl has secured a place in the European Athletics Championships final despite facing significant officiating drama. During the competition, Ståhl’s longest throw of 67.66 meters was initially thought to be valid but was subsequently disqualified by officials due to a foot fault.

Ståhl noted that while he did not personally feel the foul, he accepted the decision, stating, “I didn't feel it myself, but it is what it is.” After his second and final attempts were also ruled invalid, his initial throw of 63.95 meters proved sufficient to rank among the top twelve competitors, allowing him to advance to the final scheduled for Thursday.
