Daniel Valach appointed head coach of MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica

MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica has appointed Daniel Valach as its new head coach following the departure of Juraj Jarábek. Valach, who previously served as the head of the club's youth and B-team projects, takes over after the team failed to secure a single point in the first three rounds of the Niké liga season, recording a 0:9 goal difference.

Sports director Jozef Mores stated that the decision for a change was made following the unsuccessful start to the season. Valach, describing himself primarily as a youth coach, expressed that he views the appointment as a significant opportunity and a challenge. He emphasized the need to focus on results while fostering mutual respect, trust, and humility within the locker room to establish a positive momentum.

Jarábek's tenure ended by mutual agreement after the club's recent promotion to the top flight. The team's difficult start included losses to Slovan Bratislava, Dunajská Streda, and Spartak Trnava. MFK Dukla's next league match is scheduled against MŠK Žilina.
