Daniel Vilela advocates for AI and technology to combat crime in Goiás

Daniel Vilela, the Governor of Goiás and a candidate for reelection, has advocated for the increased use of technology and artificial intelligence to combat crime. During a recent hearing in Goiânia, Vilela emphasized that expanding police intelligence, video monitoring, and digital tools is essential to countering criminal factions.

Vilela highlighted the ‘IA Contra o Crime’ program, launched in January, which uses data from cameras and police records to identify individuals and vehicles involved in incidents. He argued that such technology optimizes police resources by reducing manual analysis time, allowing more personnel to focus on operational activities. Vilela also stated that Goiás currently does not have any territory under the control of criminal factions.
