Daniel Vorcaro: Messages reveal political and media influence attempts

Investigations by the Brazilian Federal Police into former banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, have revealed a series of controversial communications. Messages recovered from Vorcaro's phone suggest efforts to influence media coverage, including discussions with Banco Master marketing executives about pre-arranging questions for an interview with CNN Brasil.

Legal counsel Walfrido Warde reportedly informed Vorcaro that media conglomerate Grupo Globo was attempting to undermine his political support within the Workers' Party (PT) and with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Warde also claimed to have facilitated access to the Planalto Palace to assist Vorcaro's business interests, specifically regarding the bank's financial situation and its potential acquisition by BRB.

Further revelations include Vorcaro allegedly planning to offer a Ukrainian woman to House Speaker Hugo Motta during a trip to Lisbon and organizing private encounters involving recruited women. Additionally, messages indicate Vorcaro commissioned anonymous videos to discredit journalists Malu Gaspar and Lauro Jardim from O Globo. The Procuradoria-Geral da República (PGR) has advocated for maintaining the detention of several individuals linked to Vorcaro as investigations into financial fraud, corruption, and money laundering continue.
