Daniel Vorcaro denies existence of criminal groups in Federal Police testimony

Daniel Vorcaro, former controller of Banco Master, has testified to the Federal Police regarding investigations into organized groups known as ‘A Turma’ and ‘Os Meninos’. Vorcaro and his father, Henrique Vorcaro, deny the existence of these groups as criminal structures, characterizing the terms as private conversations or personal venting rather than organized crime.

The Federal Police suspect these groups acted as a private militia to monitor, intimidate, and gather information on business competitors, former employees, and journalists. Evidence includes messages discussing plans to target journalists and attempts to disrupt the website of Revista Piauí.

Additional investigations have revealed messages suggesting Vorcaro maintained close ties with Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, discussing a potential merger between energy companies Enel and Light. The Federal Police also plan to question several high-profile figures, including Gabriel Galípolo and Roberto Campos Neto, regarding potential influence and the co-option of Central Bank officials.
