Daniel Vorcaro facing investigations for fraud, trafficking, and media influence

Investigations into Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, have uncovered a wide range of alleged illegal activities and influence peddling through messages seized by the Federal Police.

Financial investigations focus on a transaction involving the Banco de Brasília (BRB), where approximately R$ 16.7 billion was transferred to the Master group, with R$ 12.2 billion suspected of involving fraud. Reports suggest former DF Governor Ibaneis Rocha may have been involved in these negotiations.

Vorcaro is also accused of financing an international prostitution network, with investments totaling at least R$ 4.3 million. The network allegedly recruited foreign women, including refugees from Ukraine, to attend private parties.

Furthermore, the investigation reveals Vorcaro's attempts to influence media coverage. Messages indicate he pressured executives at Grupo Globo, leading to the dismissal of director Frederic Kachar, and exerted influence over the news site Metrópoles through significant advertising payments. These efforts included requests to edit reports and suppress critical coverage of his business dealings.
