Daniel Vorcaro seeks new legal counsel amid plea bargain efforts

Former banker Daniel Vorcaro is facing internal friction within his legal team as he seeks to secure a plea bargain. Vorcaro has been negotiating with multiple law firms to find a way to advance a potential third collaboration agreement. This movement has caused tension with his current lead attorney, Sérgio Leonardo, following reports that Vorcaro was scouting other prominent criminal lawyers.

As part of these shifts, criminal lawyer Daniel Bialski has been formally appointed to the defense team. Bialski, known for representing high-profile figures, will work alongside Leonardo. Leonardo has issued an official note attempting to reaffirm his leadership over the case, noting that no new powers of attorney had been filed in the records in the last 30 days.

Simultaneously, the Federal Police (PF) has changed its stance regarding any potential new plea deal. The PF now requires the participation of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGR) in any future negotiations with Vorcaro. Previously, the Federal Police had been willing to conduct such negotiations independently, but they now mandate a joint procedure with the PGR for any third attempt at a collaboration agreement.
