Daniel Vorcaro's legal battle intensifies as ex-judge visits prison and creditors demand fees
Former federal judge Erik Navarro Wolkart visited detained former banker Daniel Vorcaro at the Papudinha prison in São Paulo. Wolkart, who left the bench in 2023, began negotiations to join Vorcaro's legal team after the Federal Police and the Prosecutor General rejected two separate plea‑deal proposals offered by Vorcaro.
Separately, lawyers representing Vorcaro's creditors filed a petition with the 39ª Vara Cível in São Paulo asking that Vorcaro be formally notified at the prison to collect attorney fees. The court ordered Vorcaro and the Banco Master to pay R$ 5,678.69 within 15 days, with a 10 % penalty for late payment. The request was filed by a team that includes Viviane Barci de Moraes, wife of Supreme Court minister Alexandre de Moraes, following Vorcaro's loss in a defamation case against Esh Capital founder Vladimir Timerman.
