Daniela Kolářová celebrates 80th birthday

Czech actress Daniela Kolářová is celebrating her 80th birthday. A prominent figure in Czech theater and film, she spent over forty years at the Vinohrady Theatre after graduating from DAMU.

Kolářová is well known for her frequent collaborations with actors such as Jaromír Hanzlík and Zdeněk Svěrák. She notably filmed the comedies ‘Na samotě u lesa’ and ‘Léto s kovbojem’ simultaneously in 1975, a period during which she balanced filming with caring for her one-year-old son, Šimon, while pregnant with her second son, Matěj.

Regarding her personal life, she was married to Jiří Ornesta, with whom she had two sons. After an initial divorce, the couple eventually remarried and remained together until Ornesta's death in 2017.
